It is important that parents observe the color of newborn’s stools, for several liver diseases are revealed by abnormal stool colors. If the stools are pale, a checkup must be performed promptly. Whatever the child’s stool color, parents should bring the Stool Color Card they were given after the birth of their baby, when they first visit the treating physician before the end of the first month of life.
Screening using the Stool Color Card proved very efficient.
