The Stool Color Card is distributed to the parents after delivery and explained by the obstetrician, the midwife or the pediatrician.

The parents bring back this card to their treating physician at the first consultation after a month of life. If the stool color is abnormal, the child is referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist for checkup.

In switzerland, a feasibility study conducted from 2009 – 2015, confirmed that the use of this Card is simple, effective, and inexpensive and can be used without causing the parents any apprehension or increased anxiety. For the most part, they are very satisfied to receive and use this Card.
